Elysia was born in Sri Lanka and raised in Buffalo, NY where she spent the majority of her life.  She obtained her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Niagara University and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Daemen College in Buffalo.  Throughout her travels, Elysia has worked as a Physical Therapist in four states, including New York, Mississippi, Arizona, and Alaska.

In February 2020, Elysia landed in Alaska with her best friend and fellow ECPT therapist, Chelsea, falling in love with the state’s beauty upon seeing the snow covered mountains.  When she isn’t treating her patients, you will find her and Chelsea running, biking, and hiking any and all of the Alaskan mountains.  Elysia has run 3 half marathons so far and plans to run many more in this beautiful state.  She also enjoys traveling to new places, visiting 16 new states in the past year and traveling abroad to Germany, Austria, Italy, England, Ireland, Panama, and Sri Lanka.

Elysia is certified in Functional Movement Techniques through RockTape®, including kinesiology taping and tool-assisted soft tissue mobilization. She is also a pelvic floor physical therapist specialist, educated through The Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Elysia is a very hands-on therapist and believes her most powerful tool as a therapist are her hands. Her favorite part of being a physical therapist is “healing patients with movement instead of medicine.”
